Randy Farmer, Chief Animal Cruelty Investigator, Field Investigation Manager, Houston Humane Society
Randy Farmer is currently the Chief Animal Cruelty Investigator, Field Investigation Manager, and the Liaison for the Houston Humane Society. Randy grew up in one of the largest farming communities in West Central Illinois, which is where his dad worked. One might say he may have picked up his passion for helping animals at such an early age. After high school, he attended college where he majored in Criminal Justice and Art Education. He began his career in animal welfare as an animal cruelty investigator in 2008. He wasn’t quite done learning yet as he decided to attend a yearlong police academy where he graduated in 2012. Randy is certified in all three levels of animal cruelty investigation, with 12 years’ experience investigating animal cruelty, is an instructor of animal crimes and animal investigation for law enforcement as well as a natural disaster responder. He strives as an Animal Cruelty Investigator to educate the public in efforts to prevent animal cruelty and to have those who have been convicted be prosecuted to the full extent.
